• About the exhibition

Heitsch Gallery is pleased to present MARCO CASENTINIS new exhibition minimal affairs starting May 20th 2022.

With his concrete painting that translates emotions deriving from urban landscapes, the Milan and Los Angeles-based artist explores the dynamics of light, color and space, creating imaginary spaces through geometric overlaps and a play on contrasts.

Constantly pushing the boundaries of painting, "minimal affairs" describes precisely this love of the new, of change - and in his latest works he creates pixel-like punctuations through subtle overlays that establish a minimalist context.

Inspired by urban life in Northern Italy and Southern California, his language of color and form penetrates into everyday life and prompted not least Maserati or Ferrari to collaborate - another allusion to his artistic "affairs".

We invite you to form your own opinion of Casentini's art and look forward to welcoming you to our gallery for this purpose.

Marco Casentini explores in his work spatial dynamics of color, texture and shape. He is inspired by designs of urban space and reflects geometrical and architectural questions. By decoding environments and urban structures that he perceives immediately, he deconstructs and interprets designs of architects, engineers and town planners. Casentinis use of radiant, bright or strong colors is stimulated by southern Californian or Mexican paintings of houses and dematerializes their architectural surfaces.
