Lucas Bloks Gemälde pulsieren und verströmen eine ruhige Komplexität. Der Künstler führt den Betrachter in eine Welt von Farbverhältnissen, die optischen Nerven und Emotionen gleichermaßen ansprechen. Zunächst erscheinen die lebendigen Farbfelder in geometrischer Strenge angeordnet um sich dann in einem Spiel aus Form und Farbe vollends zu entfalten. Die unberührten Flächen von Bloks Gemälden vibrieren: dominante Formen scheinen zu entmaterialisieren; Farb- Akkorde erstrahlen in ihrer optischen Stärke; Phantomfarben wandern quer über die Bildebene. Benachbarte Farbflächen harmonisieren oder erzeugen zarte Dissonanzen, die, wie musikalische Kompositionen zu Harmonie, Rhythmus, Zwietracht, oder Gleichgewicht werden.
