At first sight Heinrich Weid's ceramics, installations and diverse objects seem to be tasteful design, but the reference to the applied arts is deceiving. The artists uses common objects of domestic comfort and coziness like empty phrases and hollow jars which need to be refilled with new ideas and meaning. He approves of postmordern chaos and the confusion of styles. What he exhibits is certainly not applied art, rather applied philosophy. Weid's works are like sculptured thoughts and modeled associations which may also be used to pour a coffee.
